Brad Pitt will star in the film adaptation of the novel "The Riders", which will be directed by German filmmaker Edward Berger, reported the specialized media Deadline.
The A24 studio film is based on the novel of the same name by Tim Winton and follows the story of a man who moves with his family to Ireland.
Shortly after, his life takes an unexpected turn when his wife disappears, and he will embark on the search with his daughter.
The production, whose script is being developed by David Kajganich, will be shot in several locations in Europe and is scheduled to begin filming in 2026.
Among the production companies that promote the project are Scott Free Productions, by Ridley Scott; Nine Hours, by Berger, and Plan B Entertainment, by Pitt.
This year Pitt will premiere "F1", a racing drama by Joseph Kosinski "Top Gun: Maverick" and is also part of "The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth", which follows the character he played in the film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", by Quentin Tarantino.
Berger's last feature film was "Conclave", a film that obtained eight Oscar nominations, and in 2023 the director received the Oscar for best international film for "All Quiet on the Western Front".
