What will happen with the Spanish dubbing of ‘Shrek 5’ in Mexico?

Eugenio Derbez and Alfonso Obregón have revealed that negotiations with DreamWorks Animation could be complicated.


In an interview on Hablando de Cine Con, Derbez explained that his participation in Shrek 5 depends on DreamWorks allowing him to maintain his style of adapting the script for Latin American audiences.






Alfonso Obregón, who has been the voice of Shrek in Latin America since the beginning of the franchise, has revealed that he has not even been contacted by the production company to reprise his role. During his participation in the podcast Jeffar Vlogs, the actor admitted that so far he has not received any formal offer and that he does not know if he will play the character again.


With the premiere scheduled for December 23, 2026, there is still time for negotiations to be finalized.
