At a special event in Tokyo, new information was revealed about the second Haikyu!! finale. The film, titled Haikyu!! vs. Chiisana Kyojin ("Little Giant"), serves as a sequel to Haikyu!! Battle of the Garbage Dumps. Among the new additions is a trailer and a promotional image (below) for the film.

The film picks up the story after the conclusion of the match between Karasuno and Nekoma, where Shoyo Hinata and his team advance to the quarter-finals to face Kamomedai High School, whose star player, Korai Hoshiumi, shares the same nickname – “Little Giant” – as the Karasuno player Hinata looked up to as a child.

Additionally, it was also revealed that a special episode titled Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Ikutokoro ("The Place Where Monsters Go") will air on Japanese television. A trailer (below) for the television special was also released. The special episodes showcase the showdown between Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High School and their star players, Kotaro Bokuto and Wakatsu Kiryu, respectively.

Haruichi Furudate published the original Haikyu!! manga series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020, spanning a total of 45 volumes. Susumu Mitsunaka writes and directs the Haikyu!! films at animation studio Production I.G, while Takahiro Kishida handles the character designs and Takahiro Chiba is the chief animation director. Here's the synopsis for the franchise:

Shoyo Hinata joins the Karasuno volleyball club to be like her idol, a former Karasuno player known as the "Little Giant." But, Hinata soon discovers that she must team up with her high school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their opposing styles become a surprising weapon, but can they overcome rival Nekoma High in the highly-anticipated "Dumpster Battle," the long-awaited ultimate showdown between two opposing underdog teams?
