Hamas releases video of two Israeli hostages in Gaza and makes them witness the release of captives.

The Islamist group Hamas released this Saturday a video in which it shows how it took two hostages who are still in Gaza, Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa Dalal, to watch from a van the release of three of the captives released in the morning.


"Please save us so we can go home, I beg you," Evyatar David said during the video, in which he appeals to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government to maintain the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.


"Military pressure is not the solution," David continues, referring to Netanyahu's strategy on Gaza, who on numerous occasions has defended maintaining military pressure on the enclave to recover the hostages. The video is the first proof that David's family receives that he is alive since he was captured at the Nova music festival, just like Gilboa Dalal, on October 7, 2023.


The last signs of life that Gilboa Dalal's family received were in June 2024, according to The Times of Israel newspaper. Evyatar is 24 years old, while Gilboa Dalal is 22.


In the video, both appear in a van a few meters from the stage in Nuseirat, in the center of Gaza, through which the hostages Omer Wenkert, Omer Shem Tov and Eliya Cohen (the three also captured in the Nova) passed this Saturday before Hamas left them in the hands of the Red Cross.


The two dress in brown tracksuits in the images, and are shown with dark circles and thin, addressing the camera in Hebrew.


Both David and Gilboa Dalal are part of the group of 63 hostages who are still in Gaza, in the absence of Hamas delivering to the Red Cross next Thursday the bodies of four captives, the last to leave the Strip before the conclusion of the first phase of the ceasefire in a week.


The release of both is scheduled for the second phase of the truce, which would begin on March 2 if Israel and Hamas agree, which are currently negotiating the transition to this stage, although details about the talks have not yet been revealed.
